Eaton Services Group Sponsors the 2023 BML Mango Auction

At Eaton Services Group, community engagement has always been at the core of our values. We believe in giving back and making a positive impact in the communities that have supported us over the years. One of the most exciting ways we've been doing this is by sponsoring the renowned Brisbane Markets Mango Auction.

Our team has been a proud supporter of this event for several years, and each year, we eagerly anticipate the start of mango season and the incredible enthusiasm it brings. The 2023 Brisbane Markets Mango Auction was no exception, and it delivered a memorable day filled with excitement, charity, and healthy competition.

Casagrande Takes the Mango King Title

This year, the bidding for the first tray of the season was nothing short of sensational. The auction saw a fierce bidding war, finishing with an astonishing $40,000 bid for that prized tray. The winner, Casagrande, the owner of Megafresh stores in Carina and Chandler, secured his third Mango King title. This was a remarkable achievement, having previously been crowned in 2018 and 2021.

"Everyone loves mangoes, and the whole Brisbane Markets comes alive for the start of mango season," Casagrande shared. "But really, it's all about supporting the community. We all need to put our hands up to help when we can, and there are a lot of Queenslanders doing it tough right now, so it's good to give back," he said.

Supporting Two Outstanding Causes

What makes the Mango Auction even more remarkable is that it's not just about celebrating mangoes; it's about making a difference in the lives of those in need. The proceeds from this fantastic event benefit two remarkable organisations: Redkite and The Lady Musgrave Trust.

Redkite provides practical, financial, and mental health support to families who have a child with cancer. Their work is essential in helping families navigate the challenging journey of childhood cancer.

The Lady Musgrave Trust is dedicated to providing practical solutions that save lives. They focus on transitioning young women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to a life of opportunity and prosperity.

An Event with a Twist

The symbolic first tray of mangoes made a grand entrance to the event space, chauffeured in a striking yellow Maserati Ghibli Trofeo MC Edition by Brisbane Broncos legend Matt Gillett. But the excitement didn't stop there. Gillett took to the stage to compete in a mango-and-spoon race against Federal Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management, Murray Watt, and Queensland Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, Mark Furner. It was a delightful and light-hearted addition to the day's activities.

A Phenomenal Success

The 2023 Mango Auction was an extraordinary success. It raised over $64,000, and the entire amount will go to support the vital work of Redkite and The Lady Musgrave Trust. Brisbane Markets Limited Chair Anthony Kelly welcomed this incredible result, which reflects the generosity and community spirit of everyone involved.

Looking Forward to the Future

As we reflect on the success of this year's event, we eagerly anticipate the return of the iconic Brisbane Markets Mango Auction next year. Eaton Services Group is proud to be a part of this fantastic event, and we remain dedicated to supporting our community in any way we can.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or attended the 2023 Mango Auction. Together, we are making a meaningful impact and giving back to those who need it most. We can't wait to do it all over again in 2024!
