Protecting Our People, Every Shift, Every Site
At Eaton Services Group, safety isn’t just a checkbox — it’s a commitment and our people are at the heart of everything we do.
Operating since 1912, our commercial cleaning and facility management business now spans over 400 staff across 150+ sites throughout Southeast Queensland. With such a vast and diverse team, keeping our people safe, healthy, and supported — no matter where they are — is our top priority.
This World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which also marks Workers’ Memorial Day, is a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting every worker, every day.
A Sobering Reminder
In 2023, 200 Australian workers lost their lives due to traumatic injuries sustained during work-related activities. It’s a tragic and sobering statistic that highlights the critical need for increased awareness and preventative action.
What Safety Means At Eaton Services Group
To operate safely across over 150 sites requires more than just policies — it requires a culture of constant awareness, accountability, and care.
At Eaton Services Group, our approach to health and safety includes:
✅ Hazard Assessment and Risk Mitigation
We ensure that site-specific hazards are identified, documented, and communicated clearly. Our team is trained to report risks and implement proactive solutions to prevent incidents before they happen.
✅ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Correct and consistent use of PPE is non-negotiable. From gloves and goggles to slip-resistant footwear, we ensure our team is properly equipped — and that they understand why each item matters.
✅ Safe Chemical Handling
As a cleaning organisation, safe chemical storage, use, and disposal are critical. We provide training on SDS (Safety Data Sheets), mixing procedures, and emergency protocols to minimise risk and exposure.
✅ Clean, Organised Workspaces
A clutter-free environment isn’t just about presentation — it’s about safety. We encourage our staff to take pride in maintaining organised workspaces that reduce trip hazards and allow for safer movement.
✅ Ongoing Training and Education
We believe learning never stops. Our training programs are designed to ensure every team member, whether new or experienced, understands how to work safely, use equipment correctly, and respond to incidents calmly and effectively.
✅ Communication and Consultation
Across a large and distributed workforce, strong communication is vital. We maintain open channels between teams, supervisors, and management to ensure feedback is heard, concerns are addressed, and everyone feels supported.
Reflect. Remember. Renew.
We are proud to work alongside our clients across education, industrial, medical and aged care to implement effective cleaning management systems — ones that include the right cleaning methods, schedules, equipment, and most importantly, well-trained and supported people.
On this day, we reflect, and we renew our commitment to prioritising the wellbeing of every individual across every site. We thank our team for the care they show to their work, to each other, and to the communities we serve. Let’s continue to look out for one another, stay informed, and keep leading the way in safer cleaning and facility management practices.
Stay safe. Stay aware. Look out for each other.
IMPORTANT: If you have a safety concern, question, or suggestion — reach out to your Area Manager, Site Supervisor or our Operations team. We’re here to support you.
