Harmony Week 2026 - Honouring the Cultures That Shape Our Team

At Eaton Services Group, we are incredibly proud of the wonderfully diverse team that represents our organisation every day. With staff from all corners of the globe, our workforce reflects the rich cultural tapestry of the communities we serve across Southeast Queensland and along the Eastern seaboard.

As our organisation continues to grow in 2026, one thing has remained constant — our commitment to inclusiveness, respect, and creating a genuine sense of belonging for every member of our team. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and Harmony Week gives us the perfect opportunity to celebrate it.

Australia’s Cultural Diversity at a Glance

Australia continues to be one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world, and the latest data highlights just how vibrant our communities are:

  • 27.6% of Australians were born overseas, representing more than 7 million people nationwide.

  • More than 300 ancestries are represented across the country.

  • Over 1 in 5 Australians speak a language other than English at home, reflecting the linguistic richness of our communities.

  • 48% of Australians have at least one parent born overseas, showing how deeply multiculturalism is woven into our national identity.

These national figures mirror what we see within our own teams — a vibrant mix of cultures, languages, and lived experiences that enrich our workplace every day.

What is Harmony Week?

Harmony Week is a national celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s a time to come together, embrace our differences, and recognise the shared values that unite us.

  • Harmony Week celebrates Australian multiculturalism

  • It is a community-wide acknowledgement of inclusiveness, respect, and belonging

  • Australia is one of the world’s most successful multicultural countries

  • Our cultural diversity is central to our national identity and collective strength

These values deeply resonate with us at Eaton Services Group. Every day, our teams demonstrate how diversity enriches workplaces — bringing balance, new perspectives, and a sense of connection that strengthens our culture.

Celebrating Our Team

This year, we are especially proud of the growth we’ve seen across our cleaning teams. With staff representing dozens of cultural backgrounds, our workforce continues to reflect the vibrance and diversity of the communities we support. From language and traditions to lived experiences and worldviews, each person brings something unique — and together, they create a workplace where everyone feels valued.

When is Harmony Week Celebrated?

Harmony Week will be celebrated across Australia — and here at Eaton Services Group — from 16 to 22 March 2026.

Standing Together Against Racism

While Harmony Week is a celebration, it is also a reminder of the ongoing need to challenge racism wherever it appears. The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD) on 21 March reinforces the importance of standing together for fairness, equality, and respect.

A Time to Reflect and Celebrate

With nearly half of Australians born overseas or having at least one parent born overseas, Harmony Week is a powerful reminder of the diversity that shapes our nation. For Eaton Services Group, it’s also a chance to recognise the many cultures, languages, and stories that make our workplace stronger, more vibrant, and more connected.

Let’s celebrate Harmony Week together and continue building a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and proud of who they are. Happy Harmony Week from all of us at Eaton Services Group!
