Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 with ASCLA QLD

International Women’s Day is always a meaningful moment for Eaton Services Group — a chance to recognise the incredible women who shape our organisation and the wider industries we serve. While the nation celebrated on 8 March, some of our ESG team had the privilege of attending the ASCLA QLD International Women’s Day Lunch, an inspiring afternoon dedicated to this year’s theme: “Balance the Scales.”

Hosted at Blackbird, with sweeping 180‑degree views of the Brisbane River, the event brought together leaders, innovators, and advocates from across the supply chain and logistics sector. Guests enjoyed the venue’s signature menu while hearing from keynote speakers whose stories of resilience, leadership, and impact set the tone for a fantastic afternoon.

Representing Eaton Services Group was our CEO, Steven Tapsall, who was joined by several of our valued clients and team members, including Sharon, Mandy, Leanne, and Gloria (all from industries across logsitics and education), along with our own Sally and Emma from Business Development and Tina, our Operations Support & Training Coordinator.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our clients beyond the day‑to‑day, learning more about their journeys, their leadership, and the many roles they balance — careers, motherhood, health, and community involvement.

Inspiring Speakers

The afternoon featured three remarkable speakers whose insights resonated deeply with our team:

Kim Richards – Executive Leader, Australian Institute of Architects (Qld)

Kim’s message struck a powerful chord. She spoke about the evolving landscape for working mothers — a new era where workplaces are stepping up to provide the support and tools women need to thrive professionally while raising families. Her perspective reflected the very essence of “Balance the Scales,” and our team left feeling energised by her vision for the future.

Magenta Thorley – Manufacturing Planning Manager, Sunny Queen

Magenta shared her journey of rising through the ranks, crediting leaders who recognised her potential and invested in her growth. Her story was a reminder of the impact that supportive leadership can have — and the importance of creating pathways for women to excel from the ground up.

Sarah Sigley – Queensland Volunteer Coordinator, OzHarvest

Sarah offered a heartfelt look into the origins of OzHarvest and the profound difference small acts of support can make. Her message reinforced that meaningful change often begins with simple, human kindness — something that aligns closely with our own values at Eaton Services Group.

A Celebration of Connection, Leadership & Shared Purpose

Beyond the speakers, the event was a chance to engage with industry executives, emerging talent, and innovators who are shaping the future of the sector in 2026. Conversations flowed easily, and the sense of community was unmistakable.

For our team, the highlight was the opportunity to deepen relationships with our clients — learning more about the challenges they navigate, the achievements they’re proud of, and the impact they make within their organisations and communities.

Our Commitment to Equity - International Women's Day

Like ASCLA, Eaton Services Group is proud to champion diversity and inclusion. With 6 in 10 of our team members being women, we are committed to building a workforce that reflects balance, fairness, and opportunity. Our people are employed for their skills, knowledge, and cultural fit — never gender.

We believe that when workplaces embrace equity, everyone benefits.

Honouring the Women of Eaton Services Group

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of every woman across ESG. Each team member brings a unique perspective, a vital contribution, and an irreplaceable piece of the puzzle that makes our organisation strong.

A Heartfelt Celebration at Head Office

In addition to attending the ASCLA event, our beautiful Head Office team marked the day with a heartfelt morning tea — a warm moment to pause, connect, and acknowledge the effort, dedication, and spirit each person brings to our organisation. It was a simple but meaningful way to say thank you for the passion, professionalism, and heart our team shows every single day.
