ASBAQ 2026 State Conference - Mackay 3-5 June

Last week, our team had the privilege of attending the ASBAQ 2026 State Conference in Mackay as a proud Ruby Sponsor — joining an impressive group of partners including CBA, Higgins, Trippas White Group, Edstart and many others who continue to support and strengthen the independent school network.

Set along Mackay’s beautiful coastline, this year’s theme, Together at the Helm: Navigating Our Future in Fellowship and Leadership, captured the spirit of unity that defines the ASBAQ community. After years of navigating shifting tides and uncharted waters, the sector stands more connected, resilient and future focused than ever — and this conference brought that sentiment to life.

A Standout Event for Connection and Innovation

With more than 300 delegates in attendance, the conference delivered a powerful mix of leadership, technology, education, radio and sporting insights. It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with existing clients and meet prospective customers from across the education sector — each bringing their own perspectives on the challenges and opportunities ahead.

A major highlight for our team was the interest in our AI robotic floor cleaning technology. This long anticipated innovation was exceptionally well received, sparking meaningful conversations about how automation and AI can support schools to save time, reduce costs and improve the quality and consistency of service delivery.

We were also thrilled to have Serkan Alan from Eclipse Floor Solutions join us. His expertise and energy helped showcase the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to delivering smarter, more efficient floor care solutions for the education sector.

The Captains’ Dinner: A Night to Remember

The conference dinner embraced a lively Captains theme, and it was a standout moment of the event. Delegates leaned into the nautical spirit with enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere that was equal parts fun, collaborative and celebratory.

Our very own A Team — Steven Tapsall (CEO), Emma Hopkinson (Business Development Manager) and Serkan Alan (Eclipse Floor Solutions) — brought their trademark energy, professionalism and good humour to the entire conference. Together, they navigated conversations, connected with school leaders and partners, and represented our organisation with pride. It was a sensational event that perfectly captured the camaraderie and fellowship at the heart of ASBAQ.

Why ASBAQ Matters

ASBAQ continues to play a vital role in elevating the profession of school business administration. Through professional development, ethical leadership and strong relationships with kindred organisations, the Association helps schools navigate national issues, strengthen operational efficiency and build capability across the sector.

This year’s conference was more than an event — it was a voyage of shared learning, innovation and collective growth.

Our Thanks

To the ASBAQ organising committee: thank you for your exceptional work in bringing this conference together. Your dedication and attention to detail were evident in every session, every event and every moment of connection.

As a Ruby Sponsor, we enjoyed every minute — from the conversations and technology showcases to the Captains themed celebrations and the chance to stand alongside our valued partners.

We look forward to continuing the journey, side by side, as we navigate the future of education together.
